This staircase was constructed of solid 8/4 hickory. The stringers are 31/2" thick and the treads are mortised into the stringers. The handrail was solid hickory, custom made in our shop, as well as the ramped u-turn fittings that allow for an un-interrupted handrail that runs continuously up three flights!
